Motion sensor WiFi MS1

What the MS1 does

The UbiBot MS1 is a passive infrared (PIR) motion sensor that detects people and animals up to 12 m away, within 105° horizontally and 40° vertically. Every detection goes to the UbiBot cloud: the platform sends a notification to your phone right away, and the event history shows when someone was in the room.

WiFi, or Ethernet with PoE

The MS1 connects to 2.4 GHz WiFi (802.11 b/g/n, channels 1-13) and is powered via micro-USB 5 V / 2 A. The MS1-P also has an Ethernet RJ45 port (10/100) and can be powered over PoE (IEEE 802.3, up to 7 W), from 110-240 V AC through a screw terminal, or via micro-USB.

The MS1 does not support 5 GHz networks or WPA2-Enterprise (RADIUS login); on such a network choose the MS1-P on a cable. You set it up from your phone over Bluetooth in the UbiBot app.

Various power options for the device

Alerts you set yourself

You set alert rules on the UbiBot platform: when a notification is sent and to whom. It goes out in the app, by email, SMS, WhatsApp or voice call, and also when the sensor loses and regains its connection. App and email alerts are free; SMS, calls and WhatsApp are paid in credits under the UbiBot price list.

Alarms configurable on the IoT platform
Custom alert rules
You decide when and to whom the platform sends a notification.
Real-time alerts
Instant notification
The message arrives moments after motion is detected.
Various MS1 alarm mode options
Five channels
App, email, SMS, WhatsApp and voice call.
MS1 status notifications
Device status
An alert when the sensor loses its connection, and a notice when it is back.
False alarm rate
Few false alarms
The manufacturer states 0.3 % when installed as recommended.

Event history and the UbiBot cloud

You download the event history as PDF or CSV, and the data is also available through the REST API. The free cloud holds one to two or three years of history, depending on the number of events. You see everything in the phone app, in the browser and in the Windows and Mac program on the UbiBot platform.

Applications and the SP1 smart plug

Together with the UbiBot SP1 smart plug, the MS1 switches on a lamp or a siren when it detects motion. You can also build your own scenarios with IFTTT. Typical places:

Automatic switching of the light by the motion detector
Light switched on by motion
With the SP1 plug, the MS1 switches a lamp on when someone comes in and off when the room is empty.
Motion detection
Motion in the room
A phone notification when someone enters a warehouse, office or home while you are away.
Monitoring of animals in the house and flat
Pets at home
A notification when a dog or cat leaves the room it should stay in.
